In 2018, I lost my Grandad, Trevor, due to cancer at the Prince Of Wales Hospice. My Grandad was one of the kindest, most loving & gentle people I have ever known. He was quiet, but he never needed to say much to make you feel loved. His family meant everything to him & there was nothing better than seeing him smile when we was all together. One of my favourite memories with my Grandad, which seemed so ordinary at the time but now means so much, is everytime i had a banana for breakfast, my Grandad would sing “Have a banana, have a banana”. He was a brilliant Grandad, & although I was only 12, the love he gave me has stayed with me throughout my life. Growing up without him has meant missing so many moments I wish he could’ve been here for such as meeting my beautiful baby girl Grace Marie, but I am incredibly lucky to be able to pass his memory onto Grace. The Prince of Wales Hospice cared for Grandad through one of the hardest times for my family, & I will be grateful they gave him the dignity & care he very well deserved.
So in memory of my Grandad, I am raising money for the Prince Of Wales Hospice to help support other families who find themselves also facing the heartbreak of having to say goodbye to their loved ones also. & I can make sure that, in some small way, his memory continues to do something good in this world & may his memory live on.Every donation, big or small, would mean so much to me & my family.
Forever loved, forever missed, forever our grandad.
