Story

After my knee disaster during the London Marathon last year, I vowed I’d never run again… but here we are!

This will be my 4th run for the Hospice. Back in 2012, I never would have imagined how much this place would come to mean to our family. When we needed them most, they were our light. They took such wonderful care of my mum, and we can never thank the doctors and nurses enough — they truly are something special.

Fast forward a few years, and now this isn’t just somewhere I support… it’s where I work. I’m lucky to be surrounded every day by such amazing people who give so much to others.

The reality is, hospices don’t receive the funding they deserve from the government. They rely heavily on the generosity of the local community through fundraising and donations. And yet, they provide such incredible care when families need it most.

So, I’ll be running (or trying to run!) the Pontefract 10K in memory of my amazing mum 💖
