Story

On 10th October 2026, I am walking 7 miles for the Prince of Wales Hospice Sunset Stroll, in memory of my wonderful late husband Ed.

Ed was diagnosed with a brain tumour in June 2025 and spent his last few weeks in the Prince of Wales Hospice where he passed away in July 2026. Ed was cared for with incredible compassion from all of the lovely hospice staff, right until the end. The staff not only looked after Ed, but also looked after me, the girls and our family and closest friends. There are no words for how grateful I am to the hospice for looking after us all, but especially Ed

The Prince of Wales Hospice has been providing care to people with a life-limiting illness since 1989. Our services are available to any adult from the Five Towns area of the Wakefield District.

Our vision describes how the future of the Hospice will look if we achieve our ultimate aims.
